What hotel in the Dominican Republic is walking distance from a town and not too far from an airport?
Q. I am not too interested in staying in an all-inclusive hotel, I would rather be able to stay in an affordable, nice hotel but still be able to experience the culture and people. Any help is appreciated. Also, is there any advantage to using a travel agency? I would much rather do it myself but I am just worried about legit transportation to and from the hotel and to neighboring towns.

A. I would check out www.naturacabana.com This is a nice Inn, that will give you some great luxuries, but still allow you're vacation to be simple, and you'll be able to experience culture. It's located right in between the towns of Sosua and Cabarete (about 8 minutes to each), and it's about 15 minutes from the airport in Puerto Plata. I personally like Cabarete, I live in the area, and it's really laid back. I think Sosua attracts more older people, and men. Although their beach is nice. That's why I reccomend this hotel, it's close to both towns so you'll be able to explore a bit more, it offers a great beach, and they are also able to plan excursions for you.

How does a hotel manager deal with a death in his hotel?
Q. Occasionally, a person will die of natural causes in their hotel room. How does the hotel manager handle the situation of removing the person's body without alarming other guests? Sorry about the category. Y/A does not have a good category for this question.

A. very discretly. i would first inform my employees so that they will not be alarmed and everyone is calm. then call the proper authorities to remove the body, without upsetting the guests. the main thing, i think, is to keep everyone and everything in order.

What hotel would be good for 11 year old girls birthday party?
Q. My neice is having her 11th birthday, I am helping her plan it. She has 5 days to plan it. We need a hotel that is farely cheap and that has a pool and that is nice. We also need different games that 11 year old girls will like, if you could give us some tips on goodie bags that would be great. Her birthday is on the 19 if you could please help us by then that would be helpful. We live in Indiana, Indianapolis, so the hotel has to be around there. Thanks

A. The Marriot Hotel. That hotel gives you points which makes your price next time you stay in a hotel cheaper. They always have a pool indoor and outdoor (i believe) For the goody bags, maybe a pencil and a buncha candy! :D Hope I helped! :D Good Luck!

What happens if you rent a hotel room with an invalid credit card?
Q. Let's say you check into a hotel and present a valid credit card with Id and stay for one night. The next morning you leave the hotel at 5am and don't pay or check out and take a cab to the airport. When you get to the airport at 5:30am you call your credit card company and tell them you lost your credit card. What would hotel staff do once you are already gone and they find out that they can't bill your credit card? Would hotel management try to reach you by mail and by phone? This is in the united states.
Asked by unknown62008 - Wed May 13 02:42:47 2009 - - 7 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Sounds like an excellent way to get another "free" stay at taxpayer expense after you get charged with credit card fraud too. As the others have told you, this won't work and could put you in a whole lot more difficulty than having to find the money for a hotel bill. The world needs more ethics, not less.

What time do hotel room cleaners usually start?
Q. I'm staying in a London hotel for a few days and it's my first time without parents/company, what time do hotel room cleaners usually show up in the morning? I usually wake up late 11am-ish.
Asked by Cash C - Sun Jul 20 07:15:01 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. 8am is the usual starting time for cleaners (except in hotels around London's airports where they begin even earlier.) But you can ask the reception staff to warn the cleaners you're having a lie-in, as well as hanging out the 'do not disturb' sign. Once you are up and ready, though, just let them know at reception, or tell the cleaners themselves if you pass them in the hallway. DON'T hang the 'please clean my room' sign out. This is just an advert to any thief looking for rooms whose owners aren't around. Have a great time here -- love from a Londoner born and bred. =D

How do you find a hotel that will accomondate 7 people?
Q. Me and my husband are taking the kids on vacation and we are looking for a hotel that will let us bring our 5 children along with us as a family vacation. So far none of the hotels allow that many kids. Does anyone know of any hotels that are kid friendly? We are from Texas and planning a trip to the Houston Galveston area,
Asked by renne o - Thu Jul 12 16:11:53 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I think that the hotels that you are looking at don't want 7 people all in one room. Try requesting two rooms side by side with an inside door connecting the two so you can divide the number of occupants in each room. That is probably the only way they will let all of you guys stay.

A. How about skipping the hotel and going down to Queens/the Rockaways? I'm a Queens resident...the view from Howard Beach is pretty sweet. Plus there's a ton of local stuff going on. And the beach. There's more to NYC than Manhattan, after all.

A. There are so many great options that it's hard to choose! I'm also not sure what your budget is -- at the high end, you might want to check out the Fusion Suites Number 40, the Black Tulip, Hotel Roemer, Banks Mansion, and the Seven Bridges hotel (these are all pretty pricey -- in the $200-$400 range!) For something a little more wallet-friendly but still very nice (under $200), you might want to look into the Chic & Basic, the Bridge Hotel, or the Hotel Zandbergen. For a real bargain (under $100 a night), the Hotel Brouwer is cute -- or look into the Prinsenhof, Hotel Weber, or the Owl Hotel. If you want a little more food for thought, check out IgoUgo.com's Amsterdam page; there are tons of reviews on hotels, restaurants,… [cont.]

What is the best hotel for your money to stay at in Disneyworld?
Q. We are planning a trip in June of 08. 2 adults, and 3 kids (11, 8, and 1.) We'd love to have a suite where we can have our own room. There are so many hotels to choose from. Should I spend the money on Disney or go cheaper somewhere else? Is it worth the money to stay at a Disney hotel? Thanks!

A. If you want a suite, then you're going to pay the price at a Disney hotel. The cheaper Disney hotels are not suites and they are mostly double beds in one room. Since you have kids who are able to do things, have you considered staying at the Nickelodeon Hotel? It's an all suite hotel and the kids can have a blast in the pool area. They have all the slime and stuff your kids would like. The rooms can get pricy during certain times of the year, but June shouldn't be too bad. My family stays at one of two hotels in the Disney area. Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites. Both hotels are owned by Hilton and you can get some great prices on the rooms. Both have breakfast in the morning and a manager's reception in the early evening hours.… [cont.]

What is the best party hotel for high school kids in Fort Lauderdale?

I've never stayed in either, but my mom and sister stayed in the Tropicana, and they liked it (and my mom is somewhat picky about her hotels, so that says something). =] There's also the Candy Cane Inn, which I liked. It's in walking distance, but they also have a shuttle bus to Disneyland that runs about every 20 min (and it's one that parks fairly close to the main gate). All three hotels have a pool and a complimentary continental breakfast. You can probably see the fireworks from most hotels, as long as they're nearby. A. Dont make star hotel instead make budget hotel for Domestic travellers by charging max Rs 1000 for one night as no body is going to stay more nights near by airport .I am sure your hotels will remain 100 % occupancy

What is the best way to get a hotel from an airport without using a rental car?
Q. My wife and I are planning a trip to Orlando. We want to visit all Disney Parks and Seaworld. I found a Hotel that gives free shuttles to all those destinations, but the Hotel is like 20 miles away from the airport. I don't want to pay for a rental car for a week and half just to use to get-to-and-from the airport and Hotel.

A. Usually hotels have a free shuttle that can take you from the airport to the hotels. If that isn't an option, there are usually independent shuttle services that can take you as well which are cheaper than taxis. I believe reservations ahead of time are necessary but at least it will be cheaper and more convenient for your family.
